About Beau McFarland

I was born and raised in Southern California and have lived in the Chino Valley area for several years. My wife and I received an excellent educational foundation in our communities’ public schools, which drove both of us to pursue post-graduate work and vocations in education.

I have a BA degree in Humanities, an MFA degree in Screenwriting, and a Master of Science in Education degree, with a concentration in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). In addition to teaching in both secondary and higher education in California and overseas, I also wrote, published, and implemented educational texts and curriculum, as well as coordinated and administered ESL and Writing programs for several community colleges in Southern California. On top of my administrative work in higher education, I also have experience writing for television (particularly in the biopic and documentary genres).

I believe that public education and the teachers who serve within it are the bedrock of our democracy, the foundation of an informed citizenry, and the heart of our community. For these reasons I’ve dedicated the last 16 years of my career to education and educational leadership in California. Now, I hope to bring my experience in service to Chino Valley as an elected member of the Board of Education.
