Why I'm Running
I am running for Chino Valley School Board because I plan to:
Restore calm, level-headed Good Governance, Fiscal Responsibility, Accountability, and Transparency to the Board and the District.
Frivolous lawsuits and misinformation divide our community and waste resources needed by the district. I will work to ensure every public-school dollar is invested in the real needs of our students, educators, school sites, and staff.
Advocate for Chino Valley Students’ well-being, safety, and educational outcomes.
An effective learning environment requires students feel safe, seen and supported. To better meet the needs of all students I plan to:
- Ensure access to mental health resources and student wellness centers.
- Eliminate forced outing and provide resources for LGBTQIA+ students.
- Promote Anti-Bullying measures
- Maintain STEM directives (BST Academy)
- Encourage Dual Language Immersion programs
- Explore further program opportunities designed to draw new families to our excellent district, as well as to better meet the needs of current Chino Valley residents, including community partnerships and expanded trade school preparation.
Provide greater Support for CVUSD Teachers, Staff, and administrators.
Our educators and staff are the soul of our schools and I am committed to working in partnership with our labor unions to ensure fair contracts and the restoration of a spirit of respectful collaboration. Specific issues I plan to address include:
- Better pay and working conditions in partnership with our teachers and classified staff unions to prevent attrition and draw qualified educators to the district.
- Improved transparency and dialogue to ensure educators are heard and respected by the Board of Education
- Conference periods for SpEd teachers to allow for needed preparation time.
- An end to politically motivated censorship, book bans, and other distractions from a full, inclusive education designed to support the needs and futures of all students.
